Mauritius, Port Louis

Port Louis from the cruise
We used the tender boats to access the port.
Nicely developed waterfront with hotel and shopping arcade

Waterfront
Post office museum is one of this city's tourist attractions but we don't do museums. Simply no time for that.
Few cruise ships are already occupying the cruise terminal facilities.

Local market accross the waterfront.
Few passengers purchased Indian herb and spices.

This vegetable is called Shu shu and it is very similar to zucchini.

Lychee, custard apple and babana

Selling chilies on paper cone-shape measuring cup. It reminds me of market in Korea's 60's and 70's.

Assorted rotti bread

Pamplemousse botanic garden was about 20 minutes away by taxi from the port but it was worth to visit.
Negotiation skill required to avoid rip-off taxi drivers.

Imported from Amazon, this giant water lilies are as big as 1.5 metre in diametre

We are standing up on this giant lilies leaves.
No, just kidding.
We are not that light. h h
Very friendly fish on this lake in garden.
Looks like there are more fish than water!

Greg seems to be dwarfed by giant ginger leaves and palm trees

Beautiful tropical fauna and flora
