Maldives, Male` 8th March

There are 1,200 small coral islands in beautiful Maldives and only 200 islands are inhabitable.
No passenger terminal facility is available in the capital Male` so we used ship's tender boats to get off the ship.

This gate is supposed to be the passenger terminal in this small port.

Yep.
We are just about to visit to one of the beautiful and exotic island.

Is that the one we are visiting?
Getting so excited!!!

Check this water's color out!!!

Arriving this island after 45 minuites

Giravaru is the name of the resort on this beautiful island

This is the boat we took from Male`

There are so many exotic colored fish around the island

This building is the ministry of foreign affairs

This must be read 'Bank of Ceylon' in their local language

Waterfront

John and Diane joined us to swim in Male`s only artificial beach.

Artificial beach and one and only in Male`

Tourists especially female ones are forced to keep their dress up on this beach.
There are more police than sunbathers on the beach to control female tourists who wish to suntan.
This is obviously strict muslym country.

Lotus are pretty on this road side garden in front of the president's residence.

Another Tai Pei?
Waves of motorcycles on road than any other places I have been.

A mosque.

There are fish and fruit market at waterfront

Fish martket.
Must be fresh as there are no fridges around and it was very warm!

Sword fish

I, the shark, am no longer formidable out side of water. :-(

Jackfruit!

He is the only one who would accept the US dollars in the local market and offered his fresh coconut juice for US$1.00 each.

Yummy and so fresh!
