Seattle, Pre - Alaska Cruise on ms Eurodam

I am glad that we decided to stay in Seattle
 for three nights this time
before taking on a cruise to Alaska.

It is one of the ships from
Holland America Line, ms Eurodam.

Last time when in Seattle was more than 7 years ago.

It was my virgin visit to this city but
I had to by-pass the city and
take a tour to Boeing factory in north of Seattle
with other friends from a cruise.
That was also from Holland America Line, the ms Amsterdam.

So, only memory of this city I had was city skyline
 with it's landmark Space needle
from a distance where our cruise docked.

I got so close to it this time.
So happy...

Our hotel in the city.
Kimpton Hotel Monaco.

It offers a wine and canopy time for hotel guests
every 5pm which turns it into a little party.
Very nice.

 Off we go again...
Another landmark of this city,
Pike place market.
It is only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. ^^

It is always nice to visit a local market
when greeted by fresh beautiful flowers!

Our snack of the day

Seafood galore!
Both freshest and smoked!
Yum!

Hmmm
No wonder why there is such a long line for this coffee shop!
This is where Starbucks originated!

But we decided to join a line for this
instead of coffee.
Allegedly, this is the best Mac & Cheese in town
according to our friend in NYC.

 Freshest cheese for the mac
made in the shop.
Maybe, this is the secret for all the fuss?

After check-out of the hotel,
we took Uber to the cruise terminal.

The check-in and the embarkation went through as smooth as.
2,000 passengers off and on.

Suppose, they have to be efficient
as they repeat this process on a weekly basis
for ever popular Summer season for Alaskan cruises.

City skyline from the cruise ship

The interior is very familiar as
we have done one month cruise from
Med to Baltic 2 years ago.

We even recognised few serving staff!

Tamarind restaurant we had dinner on our second night.
Quite popular!
Lucky to be able to book a table!

One of two specialty restaurants on board
with extra charge along with the Pinnacle.

You can find dish from
China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia...
on the menu.
Loved it.

Sing a long ~~~
Piano bar before and after the dinner at the main dinning room.

Our first stop will be Juneau followed by
Sitka, Ketchkan and Canadian Victoria
before return to Seattle.

We did not expect much for Alaska as we have cruised
surreal Antarctica twice
which is an absolute serene and tranquil beauty!

But there is always
nice surprise!!!
