Ship docked at the one of industrial container port.
Shuttle bus will be running all day for the first day in Singapore to the cruise terminal Harborfront.
Ship will be then relocated to the cruise terminal later in the evening.
It was chaotic with hundreds of passengers from Zaandam checking in and out when we got off the shuttle bus at the cruise terminal.
We walked around the huge shopping mall called Vivo City which is attached to the cruise terminal.
What a small world!
I bumped into Jacque the internet manager from 2010 World cruise in the mall.
He is on Zaandam and just got off for a day.
Their ship is due to sail away at 5pm to Hong Kong.
After 2 hours on the Facebook and blog with free Wi-Fi at the terminal, we went to have yumcha at Chinese restaurant No Signboard at the cruise terminal which was quite nice.
We were going to have lunch at the Chinese restaurant in Ngee Ahn City on Orchard road where we had fabulous lunch last time but we were running too late to go the downtown in lunch hour.
Window shopping on Orchard road is always fun!
We have spent whole afternoon walking up and down of the road.
So many people put their thumbs up for East Coast Seafood Center as the place for real Singaporean chili crab.
It was balmy night after short downfall of monsoon rain when we reached East Coast Seafood Centre.
There were 5 huge restaurants on waterfront area includes McDonald which I thought inappropriate and irony to be at.
But, the rest of 4 restaurants offer seafood.
We went to Jumbo restaurant which seems to be the biggest and the most popular.
It is relatively modest price here for the crab dish with S$48.80 per Kg while quoted few hundreds in some of the restaurants in town.
We ordered small chili crab which was about 85gm which was more than enough for two of us along with other Kang Kong vegetable dish and a plate of delicious buns.
How was the chili crab?
Speechlessly delicious!
Black pepper crab equally famous and delicious will be on our next visit!
We shared a van taxi with two other couples from the ship whom we bumped into at the restaurant.
Our ship was already moved to the Harborfront cruise terminal.
Container port where our ship docked for the first day as another Holland America Liner Zaandam already docked at the cruise terminal ahead of us.
At the cruise terminal where we got off the shuttle bus. Below
On the top floor of Vivo City at the cruise terminal with hundreds of restaurants and shops
View of Sentosa Island from the cruise terminal
Chinese restaurant chain No Signboard where we had tried unusual dim sums.
Xiao Long Bao the Shanghaian juicy dumpling was the most delicious. Below
Deep fried dumpling called Dragon Beard Prawn dumpling was also beautiful.
There are our favorite Prawn dumpling and Seafood & Vegetable dumpling. Below
For dinner, East Coast Seafood Centre where is in between the airport and the town
Jumbo restaurant seems to be the place to be.
Very authentic Singaporean chili crab. Delicious!
Ready to be messy but it is worth it. ^^
