Panama Canal 10Jan2010

It takes 8 hours to go through the canal with 3 locks.
We are approaching the first lock "Gatun lock"

Almost after 6 hours of entering the canal, we are going through the second "Pedro Miguel Locks"

Deepening work
While someone is enjoying a sip and this big verandah!

Nearly there!
These little trains are pulling huge cruises and cargo ships

Last one "Miraflores Locks" with viewing decks

52 mil. gallons of water is throwing out of each locks to Pacific ocean

We were on the other side of Panama this morning and are now in Pacific!
"The bridge of America" connects both North and South American continents!

Looks like Sydney Harbour bridge, though

Modern Panama city

Herbed crusted sea scallops for Heo

Mahi Mahi for Greg

Cheesecake for both.
We are good. :-)

  1. Hi Greg,

Mary home now. Enjoying reading about your great trip. We loved our time last year on the Amsterdam. If avail you should book the Volenteer Point trip on Falklands if in port long enough. Added at the last minute last year.
    Have a great time
