Around Fort Lauderdale

We were lucky to be in Las Olas(The Waves in Spanish) Blvd. Fort Lauderdale for the Annual Art Fair held this weekend.

Hundreds of stalls stretched out on 4km of this famous strip with original art works, paintings, ceramics, sculptors and arcryl arts... (you name it).

They were really something! I could have spent all day browsing on them.

These elephant and giraffes are too big for our small backyard :-(

We will just have to come back to Ft Lauderdale again for these when we move to a bigger house.

There are so many beautiful Spanish hacienda style houses like this here.

Pity that so many interesting boutique shops on the Blvd losing tourists' attention to the stalls.

Name of this yacht is "C'est la vie"(such as life, no wonder?)

We are just about to board this cute canal/harbour cruise called "Carrie B" for 1 & half hours.

This Strahan House was built in 1901 for post office and office building. And it was the tallest and biggest building then.

Someone put their American spirit on their backyard(Ahr~~waterfront is more exact word?)

While someone put this giant ginger bread man on their backyard.

How about this house with real Christmas spirit?

Santa and Rudolph on backyard as well as on their house roof.

Cruising one of canals in Ft Lauderdale

Some of these luxurious mansions are owned by celebrities and YEP! they are around 10 to 20 million!

Nice pagoda!

"Six million dollar man" Lee Majors used to live in this house.

This beauty would cost you 18 mil. and comes with 17 bathrooms.

How about that?

Especially when you have to clean them?

(I suppose that will have to be someone else's job)

There were 7 luxury cruise liners on the port as we passed through under the drawbridge.

It created a spectacular scenery.

'Crown Princess' cruise ship.

There she is!

The world's biggest cruise liner "Oasis of the Sea"

She can hold 6,000 passengers and 2,800 crew on this 17 stories height.

"Oasis of the Sea"

A bit smaller than "the Mother", we could spot this cute "Royal Princess", too.

"Carnival Freedom" cruise ship

Apartments on the beach of Ft Lauderdale.

The beach

One of many drawbridges we passed through.

Dinner at this beautifully decorated charlet style restaurant "Pepper Mill" in Hallandale in between Ft Lauderdale and suburb called Holywood.

Jules and Marcia(who took this photo) from Denver, Colorado and their friends Morty and Loreta who have lived in Hallandale for more than 20 years.

They are all genuinely lovely and friendly people.

A pot of French onion soup with crouton and melted cheese on the top was everyone's best ever followed by yummy trout dish!!!
