13Apr Napoli Sorrento Positano Amalfi, Italy

We are on one of ship’s tour today.
‘The Amalfi Coast & Sorrento’
One of the most beautiful and famous coastal drive in the world!
Sky was dark in the morning when we arrived in Napoli.
And soon rain started falling not long after we left the pier.
I was a bit annoyed with the photos that I tried to take out of tour bus window turned out bad.
Fortunately, the bus stopped at few lookout points overlooking the beautiful houses built on rugged hillsides and cliffs before and after Sorrento.
We were introduced to the wood inlay factory and shop in Sorrento where lots of beautiful masterpieces of wood work.
They came in different shapes and sizes of dinner table, coffee table and trays…
I bought a small brown box made of burl inside and out.
Lunch was served in a local restaurant in Sorrento.
It was tourist food but good enough as an Italian.
Rain got heavier as we proceed to Positano.
Movie ‘under the Tuscan sun’ was shot here with Diane Lane.
Very authentic and romantic!
Only thing missing today was the sun.
But I managed to take some photos of rugged coast of beautiful Positano without getting my camera wet.
Lot more zig zag winding around the narrow road built in the middle of hillside looking down the sea cliffs, we arrived in Amalfi.
It was rather romantic with umbrellas walking around the cute medieval town of Amalfi.
We tried few glasses of local specialty the lemoncello drink.
There is a pasticeria next to the Cathedral where we and Renee had nice café latte with Italian sweets.
Belissimo!

Look out point just before Sorrento

A small car parked for free car wash. The owner learned it hard way not to park at the water front in a day like today. hhh
