Chinese tea tasting in Shanghai Yu Garden

A view from the Tea House in Yu Garden, Shanghai

Old charm of Chinese roof lines

Two of the tallest buildings in Shanghai in a distance.
Yu garden must be not far from Huangpu river and Puxi.

Jade table for Chinese tea tasting

We tried about 10 different Chinese tea

A ball shape tea starts blossoming like a magic
when hot water is poured into

How much???
Sorry but I think I can buy this box of tea
much cheaper in Sydney China Town than here...

There were so many tourists both local and overseas..

My favourite food of all time!!!
Soup dumpling Xiao Long Bao.
These buns are about 5 times bigger than usual!

According to my Shanghaian friend in Sydney,
this restaurant has got the best Xiao Long Bao in town.

But, our tour group went to the next door restaurant for lunch.
And it was very touristic awful food.
Disappointing... :(

But I was very happy to see this beautiful pavilion
with zig zag bridge again in 7 years.

Hotel buffet restaurant for breakfast we had
during our two nights stay

There are European, continental, Chinese, Japanese style...
I went for Chinese rice porridge with kimchee. Yum. ^^

 Chinese dim sums

Omelette with duck

More dim sums and sweet juicy fruits...

View of the other side of the hotel from the glass elevator

 Huangpu river and Pudong area
where all the tallest sky scrapers are located in this mega city

One of two cruise terminals for Shanghai
where we docked last time when we visited
by ms Amsterdam 7 years ago.

Queen Mary 2 is too big to cruise into the river and dock here.
We will have to go to Wusongkou ocean terminal to get on board where
it takes about 45 minutes drive by a bus.

Hotel Roof Top Bar with spa jacuzzi.
A couple locals are enjoying their foot spa.

A view of Bund from the top of the hotel

World famous tall buildings such as
Oriental Peal TV Tower, Jin Mao Tower,
Shanghai World Financial Centre (aka Bottle Opener) are down there.

Quite an impressive view of the city from the roof top.

Pudong (Huangpu East) and Puxi (Huangpu West)
